Ok .. it's a major milestone in my book anyway! Last night we were getting ready for bed and Tripp said "Mommy, I sleep upstairs in my bed tonight." So I was like Ok that will be fine (I really thought he was just talking and wouldn't really do it.) When it was time to finally go to bed he said Ok I go upstairs and get in my bed. So I took him upstairs put him in his bed (without the TV even being on) and he said "goodnight Mom, love you, see you in the morning" and he slept there until 4am...at which point he came stumbling downstairs and got into bed with me.
** I was worried about him falling down the stairs if he woke up so I left a little path of lights on for him all the way to our room! What a nerd uh...
Ok - some background information!
Tripp started off sleeping in his crib, pack-n-play, etc. from the very beginning. I was so proud of my accomplishment of not putting him in the bed with us! Well, around 6-7 mths. old (I would know the exact time if I were a blogger back then :) ) he had terrible ear infections and would cry throughout the night. So therefore he ended up in our bed a couple of nights ... which turned into every night! It was just easier... I needed sleep!!! I have no other excuse..hehe
So now he is well on his way to 3 and still sleeps slap dab in the middle of us.
We have set-up the "big boy room" and everything but I think I didn't want him to go upstairs and much as he didn't really care too! So I never really pushed the issue. Well, he would decide to go last night (Hal was gone outta town) when I was there by myself! So of course, I worried about him the whole night, but he made it until 4am and so did I. (Pretty good!) Now, I must admit I thought about picking him up and putting him in my bed... I know I know - I am crazy. But I restrained myself.
So we will see what tonight holds!
I am still not sure who's major milestone this is though.. Tripp's or Mine??

Oh my gosh, someone else like me! Except Avery has never (since day one in the hospital) slept in her bed! We are working on it too, but its sooo much easier to just say ok, get in the bed with us. GOOD LUCK! And if its any consolation, I did every trick in the book for Avery and it never worked. DayDay has been in his crib since birth. Such a good baby...
